Reservations are not needed or accepted. Best Time To Visit: Kulanaokuaiki Campground is open year round. Nighttime temperature range: high 40s to high 60s degrees F. Daytime temperature range: high 60s to 90s degrees F. It is suggested that visitors use a tent with a good rainfly and bring warm clothing for cool days and evenings. Fees: This campground is free, the only fee that applies is the entrance fee to the park. Accessibility: This campground has 2 accessible campsites and an accessible toilet. Rules: Fires are prohibited. No permits, and No check-in are necessary. Stays are limited to 7 days in a month and cannot exceed 30 days per year. Directions: Kulanaokuaiki Campground is located within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. To reach Hawaii Volcanoes National Park from Kailua-Kona, drive southeast for about 96 on HWY 11 (2 to 2 1/2 hour drive).To reach Hawaii Volcanoes National Park from Hilo, take Hwy 11. The park is 30 miles from Hilo (45 minute drive). |
