Kawaikoi Primitive Campground lies immediately east of the Kokee State Park boundary, approximately four miles from park headquarters. Campers can access this site via foot or four-wheel drive. Kawaikoi Campground provides easy access to Kawaikoi Stream Trail and Alakai Swamp Trail.

Facilities: Kawaikoi Primitive Campground provides pit toilets and picnic tables under a pavilion. Water is available from Kawaikoi Stream, but it must be treated.

Reservations: Reservations are required for Kawaikoi Primitive Campground.

Best Time To Visit: Kawaikoi Primitive Campground is open year round.

Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible.

Rules: A permit is required from the Kauai Division of Forestry to use this campground. Maximum length of stay is 3 days.

Directions: To reach Kawaikoi Primitive Campground from Hanapepe, take Hwy 50 to Hwy 550. Follow 550 to Kokee State Park Headquarters. From here drive north on Hwy 550 and turn right on to the second dirt road. This is Camp 10-Mohihi Road. Three and a half miles from this turn is the Kawaikoi Campground. It lies on the left side of the road a short distance before Sugi Campground. A four-wheel drive vehicle is necessary.
