Winter Park has somehow escaped the ski resort-town image. Just west of the Winter Park / Mary Jane ski area, Winter Park offers all the necessities with none of the attitude. After a long day skiing the diverse slopes, the town of Winter Park is a casual stop for a slice of pizza.

In the winter, snowmobiling and cross-country at the Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic Center (15 miles north of Winter Park) are also a big hit.
Summer mountain biking has become increasingly popular in the surrounding valley that's full of rolling trails in Arapaho National Forest. The local chamber of commerce produces a map to the more than 660 miles of fat-tire paths. Fishing, rafting, horseback riding, and ski lift-fed adventures are other warm-weather options in Winter Park.
Do you like geocaching? Winter Park, Colorado offers over 4,600 opportunities for geocaching. When you visit Winter Park, be sure to bring your GPS and look for geocaches near Winter Park.
Between Winter Park and Fraser, Cozen Ranch Museum has restored a 13-room ranch house, stage stop, and post office - all worth a look for learning more about the history of the valley.
