Glenwood Canyon is an excellent place to spend the day. Bike, walk, or inline skate the 16-mile paved trail through the canyon, or float the Colorado River (under the raised highway) in the shadow of 1,800-foot sheer rock walls.

Downtown offers a mix of shops and affordable eateries that will occupy any traveler. A short, right-from-town hike is the path to famed gunman/gambler Doc Hollidays grave. The Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, more than 100 years old, is the worlds largest. Choose from two pools one at 90 degrees and the other at 104 for your dipping pleasure. Next door, Yampah Spa and Vapor Caves have been revamped to offer a more personalized experience, from massages to facials. Glenwood Caverns and Fairy Caves have been rated as one of the top 10 caves in the USA. Sunlight Mountain Resort, just south town, specializes in year-round, family-oriented activities like skiing, hiking, biking, and horseback riding.
