Basalt State Wildlife Area - Wildlife Viewing In Wildlife Preserves & Refuges
This refuge is located in Eagle County and contains 4,706 acres of wetlands. Recreation includes wildlife and birdwatching, fishing, hunting, photography, day hiking, picnicking, an outdoor shooting range open to public, and camping only during big game seasons.

Elk Run Campground - Mammals
This campground, located within the Sylvan Lake State Park, provides campers with 34 individual campsites for trailers/RV's. These sites do NOT have any hook-ups.

Fisherman's Paradise Campground - Mammals
This campground, located within the Sylvan Lake State Park, provides campers with 12 individual campsites for trailers/RV's. These sites do NOT have any hook-ups.

Lake Trail - Mammals
This trail, located within the Sylvan Lake State Park, measure 1.0 miles and circles the lake. It is rated as "easy" and sees high usage. The elevation is 8,500 feet. Mountain Bikes are permitted on this trail.

Lincoln Gulch Campground - Mammals
This campground offers 6 individual campsites situated in a pine forest. Mountain biking and hiking trails are available. Off road vehicles have a trail that leads to Grizzly Reservoir. Maximum RV/Trailer length is 30 feet.

Portal Campground - Mammals
This campground offers 7 individual campsites situated in a pine forest with fishing access on Grizzly Reservoir. Other recreation opportunities include mountain biking and hiking. Maximum RV/Trailer length is 30 feet.

Silver Bell Campground - Mammals
This campground offers four individual campsites situated in a setting of pine and aspen. Fishing access is available in nearby Maroon Creek.

Sylvan Lake - Mammals
Fishing is excellent year-round for brook and rainbow trout. Sylvan is one of few mountain lakes that are stocked with brook trout.

Sylvan Lake State Park - Mammals
This park is a scenic park open year-round for campers, picnickers, hikers, photographers and those who just want to relax in this alpine atmosphere.
