Black Ridge Canyon Wilderness Study Area
The Black Ridge wilderness totals 75,500 acres and features the largest concentration of natural arches in Colorado. Wildlife viewing, hiking, and bird spotting are available here.

Corn Lake State Wildlife Area
This small lake is located next to the Colorado River at the Corn Lake State Park, southeast of Grand Junction. Warm-water fishing is available in the lake.

Horsethief Canyon State Wildlife Area
This area provides nice views of the Colorado River. Canada geese and a variety of other ducks are also common here.

Jerry Creek Reservoirs State Wildlife Area
Largemouth bass and bluegills are the best fish to catch here. This is a catch and release area.

Loma Boat Launch State Wildlife Area
Located west of Grand Junction, this State Wildlife Area provides an access point to the Colorado River.

Plateau Creek State Wildlife Area
This SWA measure 1,350 acres and provides opportunities to hunt deer, elk, and turkey. Camping is permitted during the big-game season. Access is difficult in wet weather.

Walker State Wildlife Area
The State Wildlife Area is primarily used for wildlife viewing. Hunting and camping are prohibited. Fishing is not available.
