Colorado River State Park - Swimming
Unique to the park system, this area is actually five sections of stops along the Colorado River. There are two separate campgrounds, a swimming hole, and several picnic areas.

Highline Lake - Boating, Water Skiing
Largemouth bass and bluegill have been stocked and warm water fishing is expected to improve soon. Warm-water fish, such as bass and crappie, are found in both lakes.

Highline Lake State Park - Water Activities In State Parks
There are two lakes at the park; Highline Lake is designated for water-skiers and boaters, and Mack Mesa Lake is designated for wakeless boating only. Both lakes offer great fishing.

Loma Boat Launch State Wildlife Area - Water Activities In Wildlife Preserves & Refuges
Located west of Grand Junction, this State Wildlife Area provides an access point to the Colorado River.

The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests are a combination of separate National Forests located on the western slope of the Colorado Rockies. These three combined Forests cover 3,161,912 acres of public land in the central and southern Rocky Mountains and offer a wide range of recreational opportunities for all visitors.

Vega Reservoir - Boating, Water Skiing, Wind Surfing
Brooks, browns, cutthroat, cutbow, and rainbow trout are plentiful in the Vega reservoir.

Vega State Park - Water Activities In State Parks
Along with several campgrounds in the park, the lake offers great boating, water-skiing and fishing. Excellent ice fishing and snowmobiling have made Vega State Park popular with both winter and summer crowds. Visitors may access trails atop Grand Mesa for hiking, trail biking and four-wheeling in the summer, and cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.
