American Lake Trail - Medium Trails (4-8 miles), Backpacking Trails
This trail is 3.2 miles long with a starting elevation of 9,400 feet (2930.2 meters) and ending at 11,365 feet (3542.7 meters). The trail has heavy usage and is rated difficult.

Avalanche Creek Trail - Long Trails (9+ miles), Backpacking Trails
Avalanche Lake Trail is 11 miles (18.33 kilometers) one way. It begins at 7,310 feet (2278.7 meters) and ends at 10,695 feet (3333.9 meters) for a total elevation gain of 3,500 feet (1091.0 Meters). Usage is heavy and the trail is rated at moderate difficulty.

Continental Divide National Scenic Trail - Long Trails (9+ miles)
When complete, the Continental Divide Trail will climb and descend the peaks of the Rocky Mountains from Canada to Mexico, traversing mountainside meadows, granite peaks and high-desert saddles. Through five states, 25 National Forests, 20 Wilderness areas, 3 National Parks, 1 National Monument and 8 Bureau of Land Management Resource areas- the CDT travels 3,100 miles through America's most dramatic and wild backcountry.

Difficult Trail - Short Trails (1-3 miles)
This 2.4 miles trail has a beginning elevation of 8,160 feet and an ending elevation of 9,500 feet.

Holy Cross Wilderness - Hiking In Wilderness Areas
This wilderness, located on the White River and Pike/San Isabel National Forests, derives its name from its key landmark, Mount of the Holy Cross. There are many constructed trails available for travel through this rugged terrain, which offers moderate to difficult hikes.

Lake Trail - Short Trails (1-3 miles)
This trail, located within the Sylvan Lake State Park, measure 1.0 miles and circles the lake. It is rated as "easy" and sees high usage. The elevation is 8,500 feet. Mountain Bikes are permitted on this trail.

Maroon Bells - Snowmass Wilderness Area - Hiking In Wilderness Areas
This area includes 181,138 acres on the Gunnison and White River National Forests, and offers a variety of recreation for guests. Panoramic high passes, alpine lakes, aspen groves, meadows with wildflowers and jagged peaks greet visitors to this area.

Sylvan Lake State Park - Hiking In State Parks
This park is a scenic park open year-round for campers, picnickers, hikers, photographers and those who just want to relax in this alpine atmosphere.

White River National Forest - Hiking In National Forests
Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, the White River National Forest consists of 2.3 million acres and 8 wilderness areas. White River National Forest is known as the top recreation forest in the nation.
