The Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland encompass roughly 1.5 million acres of public land in the Rocky Mountains, foothills and short grass prairie of north central Colorado. This area offers a wide variety of recreation for all types of visitors.

Arapaho Pass Trail #904 - Long Trails (9+ miles), Medium Trails (4-8 miles), Short Trails (1-3 miles)
This trail has been rated "more difficult" and has heavy usage. It begins at an elevation of 10,100 feet and then climbs to 11,906 feet at Arapaho Pass and finally descends to 8,346 feet at Monarch Lake Trailhead. Depending on how far you wish to hike, a round trip can be anywhere from 2.4 to 27 miles.

Beaver Creek Trail #911 - Long Trails (9+ miles), Medium Trails (4-8 miles)
This trail has been rated "more difficult" and has moderate to heavy usage. Elevation ranges from 9,800' to 11,250'. Depending on how far visitors wish to hike, a round trip can be anywhere from 3.4 to 10.2 miles.

Blue Heron Trail - Short Trails (1-3 miles)

Ceran Saint Vrain Trail # 801 - Medium Trails (4-8 miles)

This trail has been rated "easy to moderate" and has low usage. Elevation ranges from 6,800 to 8,400 feet. Depending on how far visitors wish to hike, a round trip can range from 3.6 to 8.4 miles.

Devil's Thumb Trail #902 - Long Trails (9+ miles)
This trail has been rated "more difficult" and has heavy usage. Elevation ranges from 9,000 to 12,000 feet. Depending on how far visitors wish to hike, a round trip can be anywhere from 9 to 14.2 miles long.

Diamond Lake Trail #975 - Long Trails (9+ miles)
