Aspen Grove Campground - RV Developed, Tent Developed
This campground has 27 pull-through and back-in sites with centrally located water pumps and vault toilets. These sites do NOT have hook-ups. This campground is located within the Vega State Park, near the Vega Reservoir.

Big Creek Campground - RV Primitive, Tent Primitive
This campground has 11 sites available.

Bookcliff Campground - RV Developed, Tent Developed
This campground offers 30 individual campsites for tents, trailers, or RV's. None of the sites have any hook-ups. There are two lakes at the park; Highline Lake is designated for water-skiers and boaters, and Mack Mesa Lake is designated for wakeless boating only. Both lakes offer great fishing.

Colorado River State Park - Camping In State Parks
Unique to the park system, this area is actually five sections of stops along the Colorado River. There are two separate campgrounds, a swimming hole, and several picnic areas.

This campground has 42 sites available.

Early Settlers Campground - RV Developed, Tent Developed
This campground offers 33 pull-through and back-in sites with electrical and water hook-ups. This campground is located within the Vega State Park, near the Vega Reservoir.

Fruita Campground - RV Developed, RV Full Hook-Up, Tent Developed
This campground offers 57 individual campsites. 13 sites are strictly for tents, 23 sites are full hook-ups, and the remaining sites have partial hook-ups. This campground is located next to a lake and next to the Colorado River.

Island Acres Campground - RV Developed, RV Full Hook-Up, Tent Developed
This campground offers 80 individual campsites. Six sites are strictly for tents and the remaining sites full hook-ups. This campground is located next to four different lakes and is also next to the Colorado River.

Oak Point Campground - RV Developed, Tent Developed
This campground has 39 pull-through and back-in sites with centrally located water pumps and vault toilets. These sites do NOT have hook-ups. This campground is located within the Vega State Park, near the Vega Reservoir.

Pioneer Campground - Tent Developed
This campground offers 10 walk-in tent sites and 5 rustic cabins with centrally located water pumps and vault toilets. This campground is located within the Vega State Park, near the Vega Reservoir.

Plateau Creek State Wildlife Area - Camping In Wildlife Preserves & Refuges
This SWA measure 1,350 acres and provides opportunities to hunt deer, elk, and turkey. Camping is permitted during the big-game season. Access is difficult in wet weather.

Saddlehorn Campground - RV Developed, Tent Developed
This campground is situated near the visitor center in a pinon-juniper scrub forest. Each site offers a table, charcoal grill, and access to drinking water and restrooms.

Spruce Grove Campground - RV Developed, Tent Developed
This campground has 16 sites available.

The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests - Camping In National Forests
The Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests are a combination of separate National Forests located on the western slope of the Colorado Rockies. These three combined Forests cover 3,161,912 acres of public land in the central and southern Rocky Mountains and offer a wide range of recreational opportunities for all visitors.

Vega State Park - Camping In State Parks
Along with several campgrounds in the park, the lake offers great boating, water-skiing and fishing. Excellent ice fishing and snowmobiling have made Vega State Park popular with both winter and summer crowds. Visitors may access trails atop Grand Mesa for hiking, trail biking and four-wheeling in the summer, and cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.
