Beaches Stagecoach Reservoir The reservoir is known for its fast growing, hard fighting rainbows that average in length from 10 to 16 inches. The occasional brown or brook trout and Snake River cutthroat are also found in the reservoir. Steamboat Lake The 1,053-acre reservoir provides for a variety of water-based activities. Anglers can catch rainbow and cutthroat trout from Steamboat Lake year-round. An occasional brook or brown trout may also be seen. There are boating facilities and the lake is a popular destination area for campers and fishermen. Meadow Lake This lake offers recreational opportunities such as fishing and boating. Pearl Lake Excellent fly and lure fishing is available at the park where native cutthroat trout flash their red throats when pulled from the water. Steamboat Lake State Park One of the most popular areas in the state, Steamboat Lake is a park for all seasons. Delaney Butte Lakes State Wildlife Area One of these three lakes is classified as "Gold Medal Water", one of only two lakes with such a distinct fishing classification in Colorado. Lake John State Wildlife Area This is the most popular reservoir in this county, mainly because it produces trophy-sized trout.
