A sandy beach and seasonably warm water make Boyd Lake a favorite among windsurfers, water-skiers and swimmers. Modern camping facilities, picnic areas, a playground and a trail system round out the activities. Rawah Wilderness Area The Rawah Wilderness Area preserves a 76,394-acre area located on the east side of the Medicine Bow Mountains in north central Colorado. This area offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities for all season. Boedecker State Wildlife Area The 308 acres of water at this State Wildlife Area holds largemouth bass, crappie, and bluegill fish. Lon Hagler State Wildlife Area Recreation at this State Wildlife Area includes fishing, camping, boating, watching waterfowl, archery range practice, and nature trail all for a daily use fee. Simpson Ponds State Wildlife Area This small 44 acres in Larimer County is home to fishing, hunting, and bird watching.
