Camping In National Forests The Pike and San Isabel National Forests and The Comanche National Grassland The Pike and San Isabel National Forests and The Comanche National Grassland offers nearly 3 million acres of public lands from the short grass prairies to the alpine tundra. Return to Top of Page Camping In State Parks Sugarite Canyon State Park This state park offers fishing on three lakes, picnicking, hiking, and overnight camping at the Soda Pocket and Lake Alice campgrounds. Trinidad Lake State Park This state park has a mild year-round climate and 800 surface acres of water are ideal for numerous water sports. Anglers catch rainbow and brown trout, largemouth bass, channel catfish, walleye, crappie and bluegill.
