Elk Creek Campground is located near three reservoirs, named for corresponding dams on the Gunnison River, form the heart of Curecanti National Recreation Area. Panoramic mesas, fjord-like reservoirs, and deep, steep and narrow canyons abound.
The Elk Creek Campground provides 73 individual campsites for visitors' trailers/RVs. Forty five of these sites have electrical hook-ups, the remaining 28 have no hook-ups. There are an additional eight sites that are designated for tents only.

Facilities: Restrooms, drinking water, picnic tables and grills are all provided at Elk Creek Campground.

Reservations: Reservations are accepted at Elk Creek Campground.

Best Time To Visit: Elk Creek Campground is open year-round, but water is only available during the summer months.

Fees: An overnight camping fee is charged.

Accessibility: Unknown

Rules: Premium sites have a 14 consecutive day stay maximum in a 30 day period.

Directions: To get to Elk Creek Campground from:

Montrose, drive east on US-50, watch for marked signs. The campground is located 16 miles west of Gunnison on Highway 50.
Gunnison, travel west on Highway 50 for 16 miles. Watch for marked signs.
