Apishapa Trail starts from the Cordova Road Trailhead and junctions after about 3 miles with West Peak Trail. Apishapa Creek is a dispersed camping facility that has no facilities. It is possible to make a loop using this trail, West Spanish Peak Trail and Wade Trail.
The trail passes through timbered areas where visitors can enjoy the vistas from the dikes as they cross them. The trail goes through an area of open ridge tops, then bristlecone, limber and aspen trees; the trail ends on a gentle grade.
This is a moderate to difficult 4.5-mile trail, with elevations ranging from 9,800 to 10,400 feet.
