The Thirty Mile Campground has many sites that are screened well with trees. It is located adjacent to Thirty Mile Resort. Fishing is possible on the Rio Grande River, Squaw Creek, Weminuche Creek and Rio Grande Reservoir. There is trail access to the Continental Divide and Weminuche Wilderness, Weminuche Creek Trail 818 and Squaw Creek Trail 814. Stage Station Flat is on Forest Road 533.
This is a very popular campground which remains full from mid-June through August. There are campground hosts stationed here. There are 35 sites which have a parking spur, table and fire ring. Most sites will accommodate any sized trailer up to 32 feet and some sites can take a 35 foot unit. Firewood is not provided.

Facilities: Restrooms, picnic tables, drinking water, and fire rings are provided at Thirty Mile Campground. Drinking water is provided with a holding tank that is piped with faucets (it is shut off after Labor Day) and sink water disposal is possible. Garbage cans are centrally grouped, but no service is provided after Labor Day.

Reservations: Thirty Mile Campground is a popular location and spaces fill quickly during the summer - call for reservations.

Best Time To Visit: Thirty Mile Campground is generally open from May through September.

Fees: An overnight camping fee will apply.

Accessibility: Three vault toilets, with lights, have been designed for handicapped, but not wheelchairs.

Rules: This campground is located within the Rio Grande National Forest; forest regulations apply.

No stock unloading or horse trailers are permitted, but 1/2 and 3/4 miles east , adjacent to Forest road 250, pack stock can be unloaded and stock trailers can be parked.

Directions: To get to Thirty Mile Campground from Salida, drive south on CO State Highway 17, when visitors arrive at Alamosa turn right on US-160, travel to Creede. From Creede, take State Route 149 south (toward Lake City) 19.3 miles to Rio Grande Reservoir sign (Forest Route 520). Turn left onto Route 520 and go 0.5 miles to a "Y" intersection. Bear left onto a dirt road, staying on Route 520, and go 10.8 miles to campground sign. Turn left into campground.
