Simpson Ponds State Wildlife Area is small 44 acres in Larimer County is home to largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel fish in it's flooded gravel pits and the Big Thompson River. There are a good number of geese, waterfowl, ducks, and doves that visit this pond. The area is small, so there is competition for spots to hunt.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Simpson Ponds State Wildlife Area.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted to visit Simpson Ponds State Wildlife Area.

Best Time To Visit: This area is open year-round.

Fees: There are no fees to enter a State Wildlife Area. There are fees to obtain fishing and hunting licenses. Please contact the Denver office for further information.

Accessibility: This area has limited handicap accessibility.

Rules: Boating prohibited except belly boats for fishing.

Camping, dog training, fires, horseback riding, bicycle riding, and paintball shooting is prohibited.
Discharging firearms or bows prohibited except when hunting.
Users of wildlife areas are reminded to check current hunting, fishing, and land use regulations when planning any type of recreational use in this State Wildlife Area.

Directions: To get to Simpson Ponds State Wildlife Area from Loveland, take Highway 34 to I-25. From I-25 at the Highway 402 exit (#255), go 2 miles west on Highway 402 to County Road 9E, then 0.5 mile north to property.
