The Michigan River runs through Murphy State Wildlife Area. It breaks off into 5 different winding channels. Although the area is soggy, the channels are deep and are a home for large brown trout. The river is lined with large bushes which makes it nearly impossible to backcast. Mosquitoes could be a problem.
