| Facilities: Large parking areas and restrooms are provided at Douglas Lake State Wildlife Area. Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted to enter Douglas Lake State Wildlife Area. Best Time To Visit: Douglas Lake State Wildlife Area is open year-round. Public access prohibited except for fishing 1 hour after sunset until 1 hour before sunrise. Fees: There are no fees to enter a State Wildlife Area. There are fees to obtain fishing and hunting licenses. Please contact the Denver office for further information. Accessibility: This area has limited handicap accessibility. Rules: Camping, fires, hunting, paintball shooting, sail boats, sail boards, ice skating, ATV's, snowmobiles, dirt bikes, and discharging of firearms or bows prohibited. Boating prohibited if it creates a white water wake. Public access prohibited except for fishing 1 hour after sunset until 1 hour before sunrise. Other restrictions are posted. Users of wildlife areas are reminded to check current hunting, fishing, and land use regulations when planning any type of recreational use in this State Wildlife Area. Directions: To get to Douglas Lake State Wildlife Area from Fort Collins, take I-25 to the Wellington exit(Exit 278). From Wellington exit follow Highway 1 for 5.5 miles southwest to County Road 15, then turn right (north) on County Road 60 and go 1 mile. Then turn left (west) and go 1/4 mile to the property. |
