Cherry Creek, Denver's backyard playground, offers unlimited recreation opportunities anchored around an 880 surface-area lake. Cherry Creek State Park offers a natural prairie environment of gentle, rolling hills and complete outdoor recreation facilities, including camping, group picnic sites and facilities for special events, all in the midst of a busy urban area.
Fishermen head out to catch trout, walleye, bass, crappie, pike, carp and catfish. State record walleye have been caught at the reservoir.

Facilities: Restrooms, drinking water, fire rings, picnic areas, and over 100 campsites can all be found at Cherry Creek Lake. Boat rentals can be found at the marina.

Reservations: Reservations are accepted for the campsites at Cherry Creek Lake.

Best Time To Visit: Cherry Creek Lake is open year-round.

Fees: There are a variety of fees that can be incurred when entering this state area, from a daily walking pass all the way to an annual vehicle pass. Visitors should contact this State Recreation Area to find the plan best for them.

Rules: Since rules may vary depending on which park visitors choose to visit, please check with the Park Manager for any other rules that may apply.

Directions: To get to Cherry Creek Lake from Denver, travel one mile south of I-225 on Parker Road.
