Road Canyon Reservoir State Wildlife Area

Road Canyon Reservoir State Wildlife Area is located in the headwaters of the Rio Grande west of Creede. There are two reservoirs here, but the upper lake is small. This State Wildlife Area is managed as a put-and-grow fishery and stocked periodically with fingerling rainbows. The lake has plenty of weeds swarming with aquatic insects. Trout grow quickly in the prosperous waters.
