Rio Blanco Lake State Wildlife Area is a 383 acre lake at an elevation of 6,000 feet that's managed as a warm-water fishery. This lake is noted for its trophy sized northern pike. Waterfowl hunting is allowed.

Facilities: Restrooms are provided at Rio Blanco Lake State Wildlife Area, as well as primitive camping areas. Drinking water is NOT provided.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted to visit Rio Blanco Lake State Wildlife Area.

Best Time To Visit: Rio Blanco Lake State Wildlife Area is open year round.

Fees: There are no fees to enter this area, but hunting/fishing permits will require a fee.

Accessibility: This area has limited handicap accessibility.

Rules: Users of wildlife areas are reminded to check current hunting, fishing, and land use regulations when planning to use an area for any purpose.

Directions: To get to Rio Blanco Lake State Wildlife Area from Steamboat Springs: drive west on US-40, turn left onto Colorado State Highway 13 to Meeker. From Meeker travel 20 miles west on Highway 64 to the property.
