| Facilities: There are no facilities available along Plug Hat Trail. Drinking water and restrooms are provided at the visitor center. There are at least four camping areas that are within are close by the Dinosaur National Monument. Reservations: Reservations are accepted for Plug Hat Trail. Best Time To Visit: Plug Hat Trail is open all year, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. The Headquarters Visitor Center is open all year Monday through Friday, and weekends Memorial Day through Labor Day, closed on major holidays. Fees: An admission fee is charged. Accessibility: This trail is not accessible. Rules: There are a variety of rules to consider when visiting a National Monument. Please check in at the visitor center for further information. Directions: Plug Hat Trail is located in the Fossil Bone Quarry. The popular Fossil Bone Quarry area of the park is only a 30 minute drive east from Vernal, Utah. Take Rt. 40 (Main Street) east out of Vernal until a well marked turn left/north from Jensen, Utah onto Route 149. Seven miles later you reach the park. |
