Best Time To Visit: McCluskey State Wildlife Area is open year round. Fees: There are no fees to enter a State Wildlife Refuge. There are fees to obtain fishing and hunting licenses. Please contact the Denver office for further information. Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible. Rules: Users of wildlife areas are reminded to check current hunting, fishing, and land use regulations when planning to use an area for any purpose. Overnight camping, open fires & dogs are prohibited.Directions: To reach McCluskey State Wildlife Area from Crested Butte, travel south on State Highway 135 to U.S. Highway 50. Take U.S. Highway 50 west to State Highway 92. Travel north on State Highway 92 to State Highway 133. Take State Highway 133 east to Paonia. From Paonia, travel 1.5 miles west on J75 Drive to County Road 3950, then 0.75 miles south to M75 Road. Then travel one mile east to County Road 4050, and then south about one mile across the cattle guard. The parking area is underneath the power lines. |
