Burton Creek Trail winds down the ridge line through timber stands for 1.5 miles before coming to the Oliver Creek trail junction. Visitors can follow the Burton creek trail for about another 1.4 miles to the forest boundary. At this point visitors will need to go back the way they came because of private property.
This 2.9 mile trail travels through the Medicine Bow/Routt National Forest. The beginning elevation is 9,000 feet and the ending elevation is 8,400 feet.
