Woods Lake State Wildlife Area is a 160 acre tract of land with a 20 surface-acre lake located within the tract. The forest grows right to the lake's shore, and in the background are the peaks of Colorado's Fourteeners. Self-sustaining brook trout call this lake home.

Facilities: There are no facilities provided at Woods Lake State Wildlife Area. Camping is available at a Uncompahgre National Forest campground located just below the lake.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted to visit Woods Lake State Wildlife Area.

Best Time To Visit: Woods Lake State Wildlife Area is open year-round.

Fees: There are no fees to enter a State Wildlife Refuge. There are fees to obtain fishing and hunting licenses. Please contact the Denver office for further information.

Accessibility: This area has limited handicap accessibility.

Rules: Users of wildlife areas are reminded to check current hunting, fishing, and land use regulations when planning to use an area for any purpose.

Directions: To get to Woods Lake State Wildlife Area from Telluride, go northwest on State Highway 145 for 12 miles to Fall Creek, then travel south on US Forest Service Road #618 for 9 miles.
