Well-known for quality water-based recreation, Wagon Wheel Campground is a pleasant combination of modern facilities and large expanses of prairie and riparian open space.
This campground has 87 sites and is located in the south portion of the park. Areas without natural shade have shade shelters over picnic tables. Electrical hookups are available at all campsites with both standard RV and household type 20, 30, 50 amp service.

Facilities: Restrooms and water are provided at Wagon Wheel Campground.

Reservations: All campsites at Wagon Wheel Campground can be reserved. A reservation fee is incurred. Campsite reservations are encouraged during weekends and holidays.

Best Time To Visit: Wagon Wheel Campground is open year-round.

Fees: There are a variety of fees that can be incurred when entering this state area, from a daily walking pass all the way to an annual vehicle pass. Visitors should contact this State Recreation Area to find the plan best for them.

Accessibility: All facilities are accessible to persons with disabilities. Site #16 is designated for disabled persons.

Rules: Since rules may vary depending on which park guests choose to visit, please check with the Park Manager for any other rules that may apply.

Directions: To get to Wagon Wheel Campground from Limon: Take I-70 east to Burlington, then 23 miles north on US 385. Turn east on County Road 2 (3 1\2 miles to gate entrance) or 3 (1 1\2 miles to gate entrance.)

OR:
Take I-70 east to Byers, then east on US 36 (approximately 108 miles) to Idalia. Continue east two miles on US 36, then turn south on US 385 for 6 or 7 miles to County Road 2 (3 1\2 miles to gate entrance) or 3 (1 1\2 miles to gate entrance.)
