Ute Trail

The Ute Trail follows an old logging road. Horse-riders and hikers should be aware of heavy OHV use, during the Colorado Big Game Season. The first part of the trail is fairly level, crossing a dense stand of spruce-fir and eventually emerging into a small meadow. The trail winds it's way through open parks and stands of aspen. At the end of the trail, users can continue to the Shaffer, Dunckley and Sellers Reservoirs on horse or foot.
This 6.3 mile trail is located within the Medicine Bow/Routt National Forest. The beginning elevation is 9,385 feet and the ending elevation is 9,947 feet.
