Sylvan Lake offers a peaceful boating experience. Boats are restricted to non-motorized or electric motors only.
One of western Colorado's best kept secrets, Sylvan Lake State Park is a scenic park open year-round for campers, picnickers, hikers, photographers and those who just want to relax in this alpine atmosphere.
Surrounded by the White River National Forest and nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Sylvan Lake offers a unique setting for visitors. There's a campground right next to a small, high-mountain lake for small-boat and off-shore fishing. Fishing is excellent year-round for brook and rainbow trout. Sylvan is one of few mountain lakes that are stocked with brook trout.
It's a great spot for picnicking, hiking and outdoor photography at the foot of beautiful, wooded mountains.
