Built solely for recreation, Sweitzer Lake fulfills its planned purpose well. Water-ski, swim, picnic, fish, boat, bird watch or just sit and enjoy the clear air. Fish species here are green sunfish, bullhead catfish and carp. Due to the high selemium content of the water and the fish, it is recommended not to eat any fish caught.
Visitors come to Sweitzer Lake, near Delta, for relaxed boating and water skiing as well as excellent waterfowl watching and hunting. Camping is not allowed at Sweitzer.

Facilities: Restrooms, drinking water, and picnic area are provided at Sweitzer Lake.

Reservations: Unknown

Best Time To Visit: Sweitzer Lake is open year-round.

Fees: There are a variety of fees that can be incurred when entering this state area, from a daily walking pass all the way to an annual vehicle pass. Visitors should contact this State Recreation Area to find the plan best for them.

Accessibility: This lake is handicap accessible.

Rules: Since rules may vary depending on which park guests choose to visit, please check with the Park Manager for any other rules that may apply.

Directions: To reach Sweitzer Lake from Montrose, travel to one mile south of Delta on US Hihgway 50.
