Spring Creek Reservoir State Wildlife Area lies in a long valley cradled by 12,000 foot peaks. Fishing is a popular pastime here. Hunting is prohibited, but opportunities exist for elk and deer in the surrounding forest.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted to visit Spring Creek Reservoir State Wildlife Area.

Fees: There are no fees to enter a State Wildlife Refuge. There are fees to obtain fishing and hunting licenses. Please contact the Denver office for further information.

Accessibility: This area has limited handicap accessibility.

Directions: To get to Spring Creek Reservoir State Wildlife Area from:

Gunnison: Go north on Highway 135 to Almont. Turn right on County Road 742, and travel 6 miles to Spring Creek. Turn left on Spring Creek Road and go 14 miles to reservoir.
Crested Butte: Go south on CO State Highway 135 to Almont. Turn right on County Road 742, travel 6 miles to Spring Creek. Turn Left on Spring Creek Road and go 14 miles to reservoir.
