South Rock Creek Trail

The South Rock Creek Trail is lightly used and offers views. Wildflowers, when in bloom, are prolific. The trail is rated as easy, with an occasional moderately difficult stretch. There are numerous stream crossings along the way.
This trail begins at the end of Rock Creek Road and follows the south fork of rock Creek to its head. The trail terminates at the Dry Creek Stock Driveway, which furnishes access to other trails. The trail passes through areas of spruce-fir and open meadows, ending on a ridge top. Excellent vistas of the Rock Creek Drainage are seen along the way. Short side trips at the end of the trail offer scenic views in all directions.
This trail measures just under two miles, and is located within the Rio Grande National Forest. This trail is rated as "easy-moderate" and it receives "light" usage.
