| Facilities: There are no facilities available along Sound of Silence Trail. Drinking water and restrooms are provided at the visitor center. There are at least four camping areas that are within are close by the Dinosaur National Monument. Reservations: Reservations are accepted for the campgrounds located nearby Sound of Silence Trail. Best Time To Visit: Sound of Silence Trail is open all year. The Quarry Visitor Center is open all year, except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. The Headquarters Visitor Center is open all year Monday through Friday, and weekends Memorial Day through Labor Day, closed on major holidays. Fees: An admission fee is charged. Accessibility: This trail is not accessible. Rules: There are a variety of rules to consider when visiting a National Monument. Please check in at the visitor center for further information. Directions: To get to Sound of Silence Trail from Vernal: The popular Fossil Bone Quarry area of the park is only a 30 minute drive east from Vernal, Utah. Take Route 40 (Main Street) east out of Vernal until a well marked turn left/north from Jensen, UT onto Route 149 for seven miles to the park. |
