The Snowshoe Trail, located within the Golden Gate Canyon State Park, is 3.0 miles long and rated as "moderate". The elevation is 8,700 feet. This trail sees high usage. Pets are allowed on this trail.
Only 30 miles away from Denver, 12,000 acres of Golden Gate Canyon State Park awaits visitors with hiking, picnicking and camping among dense forest, rocky peaks and aspen-filled meadows. The mountain splendor of Golden Gate Canyon's wildflower meadows, autumn colors and views from the famous Panorama Point of over 100 miles of the Continental Divide make the park ideal for sightseers and photographers.
Miles upon miles of mountain trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding and 155 campsites make Golden Gate Canyon accessible to everyone. Golden Gate Canyon is a great place for young anglers and fall color viewing. The park has also hosted countless weddings and other special celebrations at Panorama Point.

Facilities: There are no facilities available along Snowshoe Trail. Restrooms, drinking water, picnic areas, and over 150 campsites are available at the Golden Gate Canyon State Park.

Reservations: Reservations are accepted for the campground located nearby Snowshoe Trail.

Best Time To Visit: Snowshoe Trail is open year-round.

Fees: There are a variety of fees that can be incurred when entering this state area, from a daily walking pass all the way to an annual vehicle pass. Visitors should contact this State Recreation Area to find the plan best for them.

Accessibility: This trail is not accessible.

Rules: Since rules may vary depending on which park guests choose to visit, please check with the Park Manager for any other rules that may apply.

Directions: To get to Snowshoe Trail from:

Idaho Springs: Drive east on I-70, take the Golden exit, travel to Golden. Take Highway 93 north from Golden one mile to Golden Gate Canyon Road. Turn left and continue for 13 miles to the park. A trail map can be obtained from the visitor center.
Boulder: Drive south on CO State Highway 72, turn left onto CO State Highway 119. Turn right onto CO State Highway 93, travel south to Golden Gate Canyon Road. Turn Left and continue for 13 miles to the park. A trail map can be obtained from the visitor center.
