| Facilities: Restrooms and picnic areas can be found at Ruby Mountain Campground in this State Recreation Area. Reservations: Reservations for Ruby Mountain Campground are accepted from early April through late September. For the remainder of the year, the park uses the "first-come, first-serve" rule. Best Time To Visit: Ruby Mountain Campground is open year round. Fees: There are a variety of fees that can be occurred when entering this state area, from a daily walking pass all the way to an annual vehicle pass. Please contact this State Recreation Area to find the plan best for you. Accessibility: Camping site #11 is designated for disabled persons only. Rules: Since rules may vary depending on which park you choose to visit, please check with the Park Manager for any rules that may apply. Directions: To get to Ruby Mountain Campground from Leadville and Canon City: The exit for Ruby Mountain is located south of Buena Vista on U.S. Highway 285, between mile markers l44 and 145. Turn east (towards the river) on Chaffee County Road 301, which can be identified by the large, yellow River Runners signs. Go across the river to the end of the pavement and turn right onto County Road 300. Drive 2.4 miles to the Ruby Mountain Campground and Recreation Site. Caution should be used at the Fish Hatchery because the road is a narrow single lane, with limited visibility and a 15 mph speed limit. |
