The small Rainbow Lake, located in the White River National Forest, provides two surface acres of Rainbow, Brook and Cutthroat Trout fishing.


Facilities: There are no facilities available at Rainbow Lake. Facilities can be found at Meeker or possibly Buford before departure.

Best Time To Visit: Unknown

Fees: A nominal day usage fee may apply.

Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Pets and Animals Pets must be restrained or on a leash at all times while in developed recreation areas. Pets (except guide dogs) are not allowed in swimming areas or sanitary facilities. Saddle or pack animals are only allowed where authorized by posted instructions.

Directions: To get to Rainbow Lake from:

Steamboat Springs drive west on US-40, turn left onto Colorado State Highway 13, travel to Meeker. From Meeker, travel east on State Highway 13 for 1 mile, then turn right onto County Road 8 for 28 miles. Turn right, cross the bridge and turn left on the Marvine Creek Road (County Road 12) for 6 miles to the Marvine Trailhead parking area. The lake is 4 miles via the East Marvine Trail #1822.
