Best Time To Visit: Portal Campground is open from June through September. Fees: An overnight camping fee will apply. Accessibility: This campground is not handicap accessible. Rules: Pets and Animals Pets must be restrained or on a leash at all times while in developed recreation areas. Pets (except guide dogs) are not allowed in swimming areas or sanitary facilities. Saddle or pack animals are only allowed where authorized by posted instructions. This campground is located within the White River National Forest; forest regulations apply.Directions: To get to Portal Campground from Aspen, travel eleven miles southeast on Highway 82 toward Independence Pass to Lincoln Creek Road. Turn right and travel seven miles south on Lincoln Creek Road. Caution: High clearance vehicles recommended for Lincoln Creek Road. Warning: No vehicles over 35 feet long are allowed on Highway 82 to access this campground. |
