| Facilities: Restrooms and drinking water are provided within the State Park nearby Ponderosa Loop Trail. There are also 300 individual campsites located within this State Park. Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted to use Ponderosa Loop Trail. Best Time To Visit: Ponderosa Loop Trail is open year round. Water systems are shut down between October 1st and May 1st each year. Fees: There are a variety of fees that can be occurred when entering this state area, from a daily walking pass all the way to an annual vehicle pass. Please contact this State Recreation Area to find the plan best for you. Accessibility: This trail is not accessible. Wheelchair accessible vault toilets are located next to North Shore site #39 and in the amphitheater parking lot. Rules: Since rules may vary depending on which park you choose to visit, please check with the Park Manager for any other rules that may apply. Directions: To get to Ponderosa Loop Trail from Colorado Springs: 38 miles west of Colorado Springs on U.S. 24 to one mile west of the town of Lake George, then turn left (south) on County Road 90 and drive for six miles to County Road 92. Continue south on 92 for five miles to the park. |
