| Facilities: Restrooms and picnic areas are provided at Paonia State Park. There are some primitive camping areas here. No drinking water is available. Reservations: Reservations are accepted at Paonia State Park. Best Time To Visit: Paonia State Park is open year round. Fees: There are a variety of fees that can be occurred when entering this state area, from a daily walking pass all the way to an annual vehicle pass. Please contact this State Recreation Area to find the plan best for you. Accessibility: There is an accessible campsite (#14) and vault toilet in the Spruce campground, another accessible campsite (#1) and vault toilet in the Hawsapple campground, and 2 accessible picnic sites and vault toilet in the Anthracite Picnic area. Rules: No drinking water is available. Please bring your own drinking water when visiting Paonia. Since rules may vary depending on which park you choose to visit, please check with the Park Manager for any rules that may apply.Directions: To get to Paonia State Park from Glenwood Springs, take Colorado Highway 82 south to Carbondale, then south and southwest on Colorado Highway 133 for 46 miles to the park. From Delta, take Highway 92 east to Hotchkiss, then go north on Highway 133 through Paonia and 16 miles farther to the park. |
