Mariana Butte Golf Course features water hazards coming into play on thirteen holes. The designer, Dick Phelps, took advantage of the natural terrain when building the course. For example, the signature hole is #14, a 126-yard, par 3, featuring a 120-foot drop in elevation from tee to green. "Golf Digest" rated this course 33rd best under the category of "America's Top 75 Affordable Courses" in their 1996 list of "America's Best Golf Courses Everyone Can Play."
