Manville State Wildlife Area is primarily a brown trout fishery. The Roaring Fork is a tributary to the North Platte. The trout are usually small, averaging 6-10 inches. This is a great place for beginning fly fishers.

Facilities: There are no facilities available at Manville State Wildlife Area.

Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted to use Manville State Wildlife Area.

Best Time To Visit: Manville State Wildlife Area is open year round.

Fees: There are no fees to enter a State Wildlife Refuge. There are fees to obtain fishing and hunting licenses. Please contact the Denver office for further information.

Accessibility: This area is not handicap accessible.

Rules: Users of wildlife areas are reminded to check current hunting, fishing, and land use regulations when planning to use an area for any purpose.

Directions: To reach Manville State Wildlife Area from Steamboat Springs, travel east on U.S. Highway 40 to State Highway 14. Take State Highway 14 northeast to Walden. From Walden, travel five miles west on County Road 12W to County Road 18, then 4.5 miles west to County Road 5, then 0.25 miles south to the parking area.
