The Mack Mesa Trail is a 0.5-mile loop around the lake and features excellent shore bird and mule deer viewing opportunities. This trail has a gravel surface and accommodates hiking and mountain bikes.

Rules: Minors - A parent or guardian must accompany youths under 18 years of age. The person whose name appears on the reservation is responsible for the condition of the site. The Park Manager may approve the stay of a youth.

Since rules may vary depending on which park you choose to visit, please check with the Park Manager for any other rules that may apply.

Directions: To reach Mack Mesa Trail from Grand Junction, travel west on Interstate 70 to Loma Exit, then north onto Colorado Highway 139 for six miles to Q Road. Go west on Q road for 1.2 miles, then turn north onto 11.8 Road for one mile to the park entrance.
