It may be difficult to locate the Longwater Trail #619 trailhead because this is a popular four-wheel driving area and there are several trails in the nearby vicinity. The beginning of the trail follows the main road for the first mile until it becomes a well-defined hiking trail marked by trail signs. After reaching the Platte River, the trail again follows four-wheel drive routes.
This is a moderately difficult 3.5-mile trail, with elevations ranging from 7,000 to 8,100.

To reach Longwater Trail #619 from Denver, travel west on US Highway 285 to Tarryall Road (County Road 77). Take Tarryall Road southeast to Forest Development Road 210. The trail begins at the end of Forest Development Road 210.
