Located in the Lower Arkansas River Valley, visitors come to John Martin to take advantage of modern campgrounds such as Lake Hasty Campground, great fishing, un-crowded boating waters, diverse wildlife viewing opportunities, and to see historical signs of the past.
The Lake Hasty Campground provides a little over 100 campsites for visitors' trailers/RVs. All of these sites have electrical hook-ups. The Lake Hasty Campground is located below the dam and provides plentiful shade with large trees. Camping is available year-round in Lake Hasty.

Facilities: Restrooms, drinking water, and picnic tables are all provided at Lake Hasty Campground.

Reservations: Reservations for Lake Hasty Campground are accepted. Reservations for the campsites are recommended, especially during the high volume weekends.

Best Time To Visit: Lake Hasty Campground is open year-round.

Fees: An overnight camping fee is charged.

Directions: To reach Lake Hasty Campground from Lamar: Travel west on US Highway 50 to Hasty. Go South from Hasty on Road 24 and travel 2 miles.

To reach Lake Hasty Campground from La Junta: Travel east on US Highway 50 to Hasty. Go South from Hasty on Road 24 and travel 2 miles.
