Lake Fork Trail

The Lake Fork Trail has been designated a National Recreation Trail. It follows Lake Creek through a rocky canyon, and then gradually breaks into open meadows. The trail is generally gentle and well marked. It leaves from the Lake Fork Area where there is parking available and begins to climb through the Lake Fork Canyon. The stream flows within a few feet of the trail in many places and steep rock walls rise on either side. As the trail climbs, the terrain begins to flatten out and aspens replace the Douglas fir. Here, open meadows begin to appear and gradually Table Mountain comes into view.
This 7.0 mile one-way trail has a beginning elevation of 8,800 feet and an ending elevation of 11,400 feet. This trail is rated as "easy" and receives "moderate" usage.
