Best Time To Visit: Kerr Lake is open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Fees: No fees are charged to use Kerr Lake. Accessibility: Kerr Lake is not handicapped-accessible. Rules: The road in is rough and steep in places and should not be attempted without a 4WD. Fishing may be done with flies and lures only. Motors are not allowed on this lake. Directions: To reach Kerr Lake from Alamosa: Travel west on US Highway 160 to Monte Vista. From Monte Vista, proceed south on Gunbarrel Road, State Highway 15, for 12 miles. Turn west onto the Alamosa River Road, and proceed approximately 29 miles to the junction of Kerr Lake Road #257. |
