Jackson Lake, located within the Jackson Lake State Park, was once known for the hunting around its banks. Jackson Lake State Park has now become one of Colorado's finest outdoor recreation and water sports sites. A wide variety of activities such as boating, waterskiing, fishing and swimming can all be enjoyed on the 2,700 surface-acre lake.
The park is also known for its warm-water, with sandy bottom and shore. Jackson Lake also has 260 campsites and 60 picnic sites for visitors' enjoyment. During the winter the park offers camping, wildlife observation, photography, ice fishing, ice skating and hunting.
This lake is stocked with warm-water fish, such as walleye, saugeye, catfish, perch, crappie and wipers. Trout are stocked in the spring and fall. The lake has become a popular spot for anglers. The best time for fishing is in the early spring and fall.

Facilities: Jackson Lake has 260 campsites, most of which accommodate campers, trailers or tents. Restrooms, drinking water, and picnic areas are provided at Jackson Lake. A marina is located within this State Park, offering boat rentals, licensing, etc.

Reservations: Reservations are accepted for the campgrounds nearby Jackson Lake.

Best Time To Visit: Jackson Lake is open year-round.

Fees: There are a variety of fees that can be incurred when entering this state area, from a daily walking pass all the way to an annual vehicle pass. Visitors should contact this State Recreation Area to find the plan best for them.

Directions: To reach Jackson Lake from Fort Morgan, travel on Colorado Highway 39 north for 7.25 miles through Goodrich. Then go west on Y5 (follow the paved road) for 2.5 miles.
