| Facilities: Restrooms, drinking water, picnic tables, and fire grills are provided at Himes Peak Campground. Reservations: Reservations are not accepted at Himes Peak Campground. Best Time To Visit: Himes Peak Campground is open from Memorial Day Weekend through Mid-October. Fees: An overnight camping fee is charged. Accessibility: This campground is accessible to disabled persons. Please contact the Forest Ranger for further information. Rules: Pets must be restrained or on a leash at all times while in developed recreation areas. Directions: To reach Himes Peak Campground from Glenwood Springs, travel west on Interstate 70 to State Highway 13. Take State highway 13 to Meeker. From Meeker, take State Highway 13 east out of town for one mile. Turn right onto County Road 8 and go 39 miles. Turn right onto Trappers Lake Road and go 6 miles to the campground. To reach Himes Peak Campground from Steamboat Springs, travel west on US Highway 40 to State Highway 13. Take State Highway 13 to County Road 8. Turn left onto County Road 8 and go 39 miles. Turn right onto Trappers Lake Road and go 6 miles to the campground. |
