| Facilities: There are several campgrounds surrounding Green Mountain Reservoir, with varying levels of facilities. In general, the campgrounds are not highly developed. There is a boat ramp at McDonald. There are numerous hiking trails in the area, mostly off the southwest side of the Green Mountain Reservoir, leading up toward the Gore Range. Reservations: Reservations for Green Mountain Reservoir area accepted. Best Time To Visit: Unknown Fees: Depending on the choice of recreational activity, there may be a fee charged. Accessibility: Unknown Rules: Pets must be restrained or on a leash at all times while in developed recreation areas. This campground is located within the White River National Forest; forest regulations apply.Directions: To get to Green Mountain Reservoir from: Vail: Drive east on US-6 to Silverthorne. From Silverthorne, travel Highway 9 north of Silverthorne for 14 miles. Turn left onto Forest Development Road 30 to go around the west side of Green Mountain Reservoir or continue on Highway 9 to travel around the east side of the Green Mountain Reservoir.Breckenridge: Travel north on Highway 9.
