Camping is prohibited except for seven days before the beginning of regular big-game seasons through seven days after the end of regular big-game seasons. Reservations: Reservations are not needed or accepted to visit Garfield Creek State Wildlife Area. Best Time To Visit: Garfield Creek State Wildlife Area is open year-round. Fees: There are no fees to enter this area, but hunting/fishing permits will require a fee. Accessibility: This area is limited in handicap accessibility. Rules: Users of wildlife areas are reminded to check current hunting, fishing, and land use regulations when planning to use an area for any purpose. Bicycles are prohibited off county roads.Dogs are prohibited except when used as an aid to hunting.Public access is prohibited December 1st through July 15th except for spring turkey hunting below the junction, or small-game hunting above the junction of County Roads 312 and 328.Directions: To get to Garfield Creek State Wildlife Area from Glenwood Springs, take I-70 to New Castle exit #105. Turn south over the river, then west on County Road 335 to County Road 312. At County Road 312 turn south to the property. |
